|<< Lino||Liu||Liukan >>|
A close friend of the Heroís, Liu serves on the Citro Defense Corps with his fellow friends Marica and Jale.
Liu is actually a Scribe named Liu-Shen and was born in the Woodland Village, but he hated the idea of remaining in the woods and having no contact with the wood, so, before he turned 12 and would receive the traditional Scribe tattoos, he ran away from the woods. Although he asked his comrade Len-Lien to join him, she refused out of her duty to Lao-Kwan, the Elder Scribe.
Liu traveled until he came upon Citro Village, where he stayed, hiding any mention of his past and dropping his surname to aid in his disguise. When the Hero obtains the Chronicle of the Shining Legacy, the marks of the stars are bestowed upon Liu, but he, who wants to avoid anything to do with Chronicles to distance himself from the Scribes, lies and says he did not obtain them.
Liu remains in Citro after hunting the Renegade demon, and rejoins the Hero when the Order mobilizes to attack Citro, and rescues the Hero by using his mark of the stars on Fergus and Conon. Liu plans strategic maneuvers to counter Citroís smaller numbers, and once the Hero establishes the Company to fight the Order, Liu serves as tactical head.
Liu avoids mention of his past until he is drawn to the Woodland Village by Lao-Kwan, who pulls him from the Ravine of Infinity. Liu explains his past to the Hero and Chrodechild, and endures the criticism of the other Scribes in silence. When Lao-Kwan dies and Liu is chosen as Elder, he resolves to continue his fight against the Order. Although the other Scribes decry him, Luo-Tao defends him, as Lao-Kwan used the power of the Tautau Council so frequently with full knowledge of what it would entail, as well as passing it to Liu knowing full well he would leave the woods with it. Liu tries to get others to accompany him, but only Luo-Tao and Len-Lien accompany him.
Having the power of the Tautau Council, Liu uses it to great effect. When Sophia has the Chronicle of Boundless Amber implanted in her, Liu suppresses itís power with his Chronicle, allowing Nova to save his daughter.
Dirk holds Liu hostage to gain the Tautau Council, which Liu willingly agrees to do. He claims to have given it so that Dirk could have the showdown he wanted with the Hero, but Dirk actually uses itís power to alter the location of the 11th fusion, which Valfred tried to make happen at the Heroís castle. After Dirkís death, the Chronicle returns to Liu, who is upset that Dirk would give his own life to save theirs.
Liu uses his Chronicle along with the other false Chronicles to help defeat the One King. Soon after the war ends, Liu serves as both advisor to the Company as well as Elder Scribe, traveling around the country accompanied by Len-Lien. - Matt620
