An acquaintance of Lucretia and scholar of the [Sindar] race, Zweig is a mysterious man who is extremely knowledgeable about the lost civilization.
A master of research and bo staff fighting, Zweig was sought out by Lucretia when Lord Godwin started gathering up [Sindar] experts. They didn’t meet through the noble though: Zweig thought Lord Godwin gathering those people was suspicious, and didn’t show up, and that is what caused the strategist to seek him out.
Zweig is consulted by Lucretia when the Prince gains the Dawn Rune and decides to restore the water to Lordlake. He meets the Prince at the ruins by Ceras Lake, and escorts him through the ruins, using the Dawn Rune, which is mysteriously connected to the place, to navigate through areas that the scholar couldn’t reach before. When the scholar sees the end result of the place, he is amazed. The Ceras Lake Ruins were a sluice gate that could control the water flow. Using this, Zweig concludes how Lucretia wants to save Lordlake and destroy Hatred Fortress.
Zweig wants to investigate the [Sindar] Ruins hidden under Ceras Lake discovered when the water level went down, but since the Prince decides to make it his base, he can’t do it as much as he would want to. But Zweig still looks around, and discovers a rune with another Dawn Rune seal. When the Prince uses his rune, Zweig witnesses a vision of destruction, which Sialeeds points out is the Sun Rune’s work.
Zweig accompanies the Prince to the Deep Twilight Ruins when the Prince wants to increase the power of the Dawn Rune to help Lyon. Zweig attempts to cover up his scholarly desires by telling Lucretia that increasing the power of the Dawn Rune would benefit the army, but Lucretia says a single rune won’t do much. But the Prince still goes and Zweig goes with him. After being bored out of his mind at a meeting with Craig of the Dragon Cavalry, Zweig explores the ruins, and notices that the Twilight Rune is the symbol there. Since the Dawn Rune and Twilight Rune are a pair though, Zweig speculates the Prince’s rune will work anyway, and it does.
Zweig studies the [Sindar] tablets left behind by Lord Godwin, and is able to deduce where Marscal took the Sun Rune: The Ashtwal Mountains. Zweig accompanies the Prince there. He decides to tackle one of the corridors, but Georg goes with him to help him.
Zweig is well acquainted with Lorelai, and treats her with relative disdain. He tells her to stop following him to ruins, to stop being reckless, and doesn’t hesitate to insult her when she doesn’t understand that when Lucretia asked the Prince to meet with the Dragon Cavalry, that it really meant to meet with the cavalry and go to the ruins on the way back. Lorelai also wants access to Zweig’s lab, where he keeps his research. But Zweig pretends it doesn’t exist and plays sumb with Lorelai. Zweig is intrigued by Killey and listens heavily to the Crimson Pilgrims legend. After the war ends, Zweig traces a rumor by Killey to find them, but ends up only finding a single tree. - Matt 620 (articles), Basel (image)
