Wendel is an amateur ship's lookout who is amazed at Nico's abilities in that regard. She joins Lazlo's army to learn as much as she can from Nico, and the one day become a better one than him.

She always says the first thing on her mind, which annoys just about everyone on the ship, especially Nico, who doesn't know why anyone would want to be his apprentice.
