um, yeah...
Um, yeah, that I was confusing the Ogre set with the Double-strike rune. That's because I have the Rage rune (berserk) plus the double strike rune, plus the Goblin set (attack up), and a power ring equipped on Tal so he can do massive amounts of damage. (Okay, so maybe there's better choices of character, but I started using him from the beginning of the game, and he grew on me.)
So yes I was confusing the two. So I ask again. Do you think I could keep the double strike rune equipped on him and still keep him alive in the final battles?

You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes?
Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?

The Pirate King Shoes require patience.
Double-strike doesn't make you that vulnerable.

Once you've cast the net, wait on the world map.

I've just realized that Millay and Ameria (two of my faves) can't equip the Goblin Set, while Chiepoo and Gau can. I thought it would be just a 'guy thing', but I tried with Lazlo and he can't equip it either, so I assumed only the demi-humans can, but then I put Sigurd in my party and he can equip it too, so now I'm confused.
Can someone give a list on who can equip the Goblin Set?

I think the characters you mentioned that can wear the goblin set, plus Flare. I don't know the rest though...
Just think about it. Someone might be writing a Kingdom Hearts 2/Pretty Cure x-over right now. That someone is me.
Now playing POTC At World's End

Highwind asked about who can equip the Goblin Set (Tengu Set).
There are several categories for the equipment. Each character can equip only certain categories.
Magical
Lightweight, medium, and heavy
Shields
Capes
Girls
Women
Nobility
Man
Nay-Kobold
All four pieces of the Goblin Set are Lightweight, Man, and Nay-Kobold. Anyone who can equip at least one of these three can equip it.
So, the characters who can equip it are:
Akaghi, Aldo, Axel, Bartholemew, Champo, Chiepoo, Dario, Eugene, Fredrica, Gau, Izak, Karl, Kate, Lino En Kuldes, Lo Fong, Lo Hak, Lo Seng, Millay, Mizuki, Nalkul, Ornan, Paula, Rachel, Reinhold, Rita, Shiramine, Sigurd, Tal, Ted, Travis, Ugetsu, and Wendel.
So, no, it's not a man/woman thing. It's a lightweight thing.
"Don't think how Keneth must feel about having 'Girl-type' for his Other slot, and load him up with fancy jewelry like the Pearl Necklace and Pearl Bracelet. Maybe buy him dinner, too, while you're at it."

So that possibly explains why my Hero couldn't equip the Hero's Shield. *grumbles* Good grief, how're you supposed to complete the set like that?
Potch is good. Lots of potch means equipment upgrades! ^^
Best question ever - Zwieg to Vicki, Suikoden V:
"How can you not know what country you're in?"
Oh, there are SO many reasons, Zwieg. *snerk*

You can complete the set...just not on the Hero. You'll have to put it on someone else.
And if I saw you dancing, I would spin you around, spin you around, turn your world upside down
