Origins of character names.

Post by Luther »

Thanks to japanese discussions, I could search about the origins of some character names.

It seems that フェリド (Ferid) comes from フェリドゥーン (commonly written from the persian : Faridun, so the R in the name is more correct, but not the E), a persian heroe. And in this legend, therie is a guy names Zahhak!

You can see an illustration of the scene in this, where "Faridun strikes down Zahhak": http://www.imagesonline.bl.uk/britishli ... artid=7526
The original story can be read here: http://erga.packhum.org/persian/pf?file=06801281&ct=0.

Have this legend inspired the story of Suikoden V, regarding Ferid and Zahhak?

sars just posted this info in the translation thread....now either you and him posted exactly at the same time...or you dont read new threads... OR you read sars post and then made a seperate post about it..which dosent make sense

although..in your defense! sars didnt give any links.. so im thinking you guys posted at the same time or you didnt see his post

Look at the time of the posts, this one came about 20 minutes beforehand, if times can be believed and it's not all some conspiracy, of course.
