The smith of the Blades of Night’s Veil, Gadburg was the former blacksmith of the Royal Family of Astrasia. Only he is capable of forging the black blades the Blades of Night’s Veil uses. On Chrodechild’s order, Meruvis brings Gadburg to the Hero’s castle, so that, if the Order were to ever attack, the Company would be more prepared to withstand an assault. Chrodechild decides this to be the most prudent course of action, as Danash would never allow the Blades to be permanently stationed at the Hero’s castle.

Gadburg never forged arms while in El-Qaral, as the Blades did not want Gadburg’s superior skill to be noticed and made to forge arms simply for the Magedom. Once stationed at the Castle, the Blades often sent in requests for him from Janam.

Gadburg is acquainted with the sword master Mourgent, whom he contacts once he learns that a War Priestess from the Empire of the North Star has returned.

Gadburg becomes extremely impressed with the inventions of Balsam, Gorno, and Khemia. As such, after the war ends, he continues in the castle and is inspired to attempt new innovations in his craft. - Matt620
