Blinking rune pieces!

hey are these pieces different from normal rune pieces?Coz we can probably use even one at a time..instead of having to collect 4 to make an orb.
And it says "summons allys on standby" What does that mean?And how do we use them?coz they r invalid whenever i try to use them.....
Also please tell me what ur cook Retso sells! mine only sells Abelone steaks and accepts no more materials! :S

Blinking rune pieces are used to change party members while you're out and about away from the castle. They can't be combined to make an orb. As for Retso, find baby fish in stores and give them to Shun Min to raise and also get seeds to give to Goesh to farm for you. Retso will use the materials to make different foods.
