The moon rune has the ability to turn people into vampires. If they remain in its presence they don't need to drink peoples blood to survive. Vampires are inherently immortal which is why Sierra never ages either way.abs wrote:why did sierra not age when neclord stole the rune from her?
I'm not sure the moon rune is even a true rune. I think it's just a high ranking rune derived from the night rune. If so, it wouldn't offer immortality either.

One, official sources of info lists Moon Rune among the 27 True Runes. That's as sure as it gets, I'd say.
Two, vampires are not immortal otherwise we could never kill Neclord. However they do not age, a property shared with bearers of the True Runes.

That's what I meant by immortal, and how the game defines it more or less. You won't grow old, but you can be killed.patapi wrote: Two, vampires are not immortal otherwise we could never kill Neclord. However they do not age, a property shared with bearers of the True Runes.

I try the answer the last question & answering the second to the last question.
I dont know why Sierra never aged.
I guess being a vampire & mastering the true rune played a part of it.
To answer the other question.
I think you confused the story about Windy trying to get the soul eater from gramps when he escaped to the forest, then Sierra escaping into the forest.
For many years she lived alone but somehow (We do not know) She possesed the rune.
She was able to control her hunger for blood by escaping into a remote area in the woods somewhere away from humans.
Of course she will be alone for awhile.
Until the time Rean stumbled into where she was.
He was dying but she was alone & wanted to be with someone,so she made him into a vampire.I think she liked him as well
Eventually more people would come into the village & they too were saved by becoming vampires.
Sierra would place the true rune in the center of town to control the hunger of blood.
It radiated the whole town which was like an Aura.
They spent a long time in peace within the vampires.
Until a new member named Neclord stole the rune.
Stealing the rune also lost the power to the other vampires except Sierra who mastered the rune.
Most vampires would die without the protection of the true rune.
Some including Rean would escape & become true vampires.
They needed blood to live.
Sierra now had a job to do.
She needed to save the people she loved.
Unfortunately that meant their death.
Including Rean & Neclord.
That is why she left the village.

Re: Is Neclord's invinciblity derived from a rune?
uhh... i feel uncomfortable, this thread isn't about Sierra
anyways, to answer the topic
i recall Viktor's words
Neclord is a runic vampire, regular weapons and magics have no effect on him
so in a sense, yes
he became a vampire because of the Moon Rune and was now granted invincibilty from normal methods
and a way to nullify this spell, he had to be struck with the Night Rune
the rune which all beings of darkness serves
----------------------------------------------------
about immortality...
Immortality and Invincibility are, I believe, two different terms
one refers to eternal life, one refers indestructible
Vampires in almost all media are immortal - living eternal lives
but was never invincible because of their popular weaknesses
anyways, to answer the topic

I dunno, I always thought that Viktor was simply ill informed about Neclord's powers. Its obvious that his invincibility is derived from the Blue Moon Rune, but from my understanding, the vampires of Seirra's coven were all bitten, making him a regular vampire with a powerful rune.

Re: Is Neclord's invinciblity derived from a rune?
ah yes, it can also be interpreted like that
turning a human into a vampire using a rune was just my assumption from reading "runic vampire"
nevertheless i still think Viktor's still on point
Neclord's a runic vampire, invulnerable to regular damage
runic because he holds a powerful rune (taking heed of TPAM's post)
which grants him invincibility
correct?

I would agree that logic dictates his invincibility comes from the rune. however, logic doesnt neccesarily control the Suiko world.

Well, immortal is the lack of mortality, which doesn't really apply when you can kill vampires or True Rune bearers.Holywhippet wrote: That's what I meant by immortal, and how the game defines it more or less. You won't grow old, but you can be killed.
Agelessness is the better term (and one I'm surprised nobody uses around here anymore).
As for Neclord, he obviously has great skill to begin with but the Moon Rune likely gave him those "dodge" powers. However, the "shadow walk" type powers he has are likely inherent to most vampires, since Sierra does it each time she moves in for normal attacks.

so your saying that Neclord's invincibility does not come from a rune?
