For Suikoden Tactics, to get the Mercenary group; the S Guild Rank, is just the way you do the guild quests? You seriously don't need S Ranks for every battle to obatin these characters? I think I saw it written or spoken somewhere that you do. I'm hoping its just avoiding the X & Co. quests only: let me know if this is true and or false; thanks!

For quests, the rank system is different. Doing lots of quests will raise your rank. How well you do on the battles during those quests is meaningless.
