Was we Rune Ripped off??

I wonder if the absence of some runes could be attributed to geography. For instance the Rune of Beginning has at least some history in the Jowston Region, perhaps it's remained in that general area forever. That would make sense why no Shield Runes are seen in an area so far south.

Maybe.

I just think the game designers don't pay attention to these sorts of details as much as the fans do.

there seemed to be fewer high powered runes in general this time.

maybe my memory is off, but its seems like there are more powerfull runes as the timeline goes forward in suikoden.

few in suiko 4, where i seem to recall there was a whole ton of powerfull runes in suiko 3, maybe it means something~

Well I think the designers just couldn't be bothered personally. I mean even as a rare rune like the champion rune i would have been happy.
