That would be beyond awesome .... Surely they are condsidering it. Surely! It would cost money but its a great investment, it would revive the series.

Sadly those franchises enjoy greater popularity than Suikoden. We know how the PSP bundle of the two first titles bombed terribly, so it could only get worse for a bundle that includes the most hated numbered Suikoden title?

Zone of the Enders isn't that popular except within it's own fanbase. Zone of the Enders: 2nd Runner apparently only sold about 100,000 in it's first print in Japan, even Suikoden V beats that. The main difference is of course that the Enders series was backed by Hideo Kojima.

The Suikoden 1 & 2 bundle on PSP only bombed because it wasn't released outside of Japan. If it was available in the US, I would have bought it.patapi wrote:Sadly those franchises enjoy greater popularity than Suikoden. Same for me in Europe.
Is it really expensive to bring a game on PS Store ?
Because that's the only reason I find to not do it. Games were already translated, so what is the problem :/

The problem with publishing games as PSOne Classics (or Games Archive in Japan) is mostly due to licensing. Everyone has to agree, or else nothing happens whether Sony, the developer, or the publisher wants it to.
It can be something as big as the publisher having different plans for redistribution (i.e. an unannounced collection) to something as small as a music/voice acting license they can't get anymore.

No, the numbers even for just Japan were abysmal.freshmetal wrote:The Suikoden 1 & 2 bundle on PSP only bombed because it wasn't released outside of Japan. If it was available in the US, I would have bought it.

Well that makes me a sad panda. What the hell is wrong with the series when Japan won't even buy a Suikoden game?Xelinis wrote:No, the numbers even for just Japan were abysmal.freshmetal wrote:The Suikoden 1 & 2 bundle on PSP only bombed because it wasn't released outside of Japan. Re: Time to beg Konami to bring Suikoden 2 to PSN
It's probably related to two facts
1. Suikoden I and II are not hard to get used in Japan for cheap and are playable on 2 seperate systems (at the time, 3 now)
2. the port is rather shoddily done and adds nothing of value
Japanese players simply had little reason to buy it.

Re: Time to beg Konami to bring Suikoden 2 to PSN
Yeah, it's what I think too.
PS Store is a good way to get games hard to find, like european or american Suikoden I & II.
If a game is easily available, there is no point to get it on Store.
i'm wondering if japanese players buy a lot of japanese games on PS Store or if they mainly use it for extra-content and western games.

Re: Time to beg Konami to bring Suikoden 2 to PSN
You have to notice that Suikoden is only and has only ever been added to the North American PSN Store. PSOne Classic/Games Archive status is awarded in a way that can only be described as random, publisher restricted, or Sony restricted (i.e. scheduling, ESRB approval, compatibility testing with PS3/PSP).

For those who are interested, there is a slight revival going on over at the Konami Japan Facebook page asking for Suikoden II on PSN. Head on over!

Re: Time to beg Konami to bring Suikoden 2 to PSN
The first Suikoden isn't even available on the European PSN Store yet. No idea why, but Konami seems to hate Europe for some reason
But yeah, I would love to see Suikoden, Suikoden II and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on EU PSN
EDIT (July 18th): So 3 weeks ago I sent an e-mail to Konami Europe, about how it would be nice if they re-released some of their old games on the European Playstation Store.

EDIT (July 18th): So 3 weeks ago I sent an e-mail to Konami Europe, about how it would be nice if they re-released some of their old games on the European Playstation Store.
Today, exactly 3 weeks later (very fast guys eh?), I got my reply.Greetings,
The European PlayStation®Store is a great service that offer some old Playstation and Playstation 2 games for sale, and let them be downloaded on the PS3. Quite nice and convenient, and Konami already offer a few titles there like the original Metal Gear Solid and the original Silent Hill.
But I wonder, why are so few Konami classics available on European PlayStation®Store? Suikoden, Suikoden II and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night are not only among the best Playstation 1 games ever made, but among the best games of all time. For example, only 2 weeks ago Castlevania: Symphony of the Night was ranked as the 35th best game of all time at g4tv.
http://www.g4tv.com/top-100/473/castlev ... the-night/
Not only that, but two of these three games are available on the North American PlayStation®Store and been there for several years now, why not here on the European PlayStation®Store too? I feel it's a huge mistake to not offer these 3 classics for sale. Especially as these 3 games are very wanted games and go for £100+ for used copies even though they now are over a decade old.
Also, a few months ago the European PlayStation®Store started to offer PS2 games, and I think this is a huge opportunity to introduce Suikoden III for the European gamers as it never had a proper retail release in Europe a decade ago when it was released in North America and Japan. And of course, it would also be nice to see Suikoden IV, Suikoden Tactics and Suikoden V on European PlayStation®Store too (I'm obviously quite the Suikoden fan).
I hope we can see some more activity from Konami regarding their classics when it comes to the European PlayStation®Store in the near future.
Kind regards,
