"We recently contacted you regarding the status of your order for
Suikoden Tierkreis on Nintendo DS.
At the time, we were attempting to locate stock of the product, and were
hoping to have been able to despatch your game to you as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, we are unable to get stock of this game as the
manufacturers have already deleted it from their catalogue, and they are
not making any more. As such we have no option but to cancel your order.
Rest assure that no payment has been taken from your card.
We apologise wholeheartedly for letting you down in this way. It's a
rare occurrence for games to be made in such small pressings, and
unfortunately it caught us out this time.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you."
Deleted from their catalogue less than a week after release O_o?!
Then a later message from Konami UK...
Specter_General, GameFAQs wrote:yeah i e-mailed konami about this and they said they would give no more information about this Dear Pete,
Thank you very much for contacting the Konami customer support team.
We are sorry to inform you that we are not in a position to reveal further
details about Suikoden.
All officials announcements are made on our official website:
I don't believe it solely because the only other time I've heard of this happening is when a company went out of business shortly after release. Konami isn't going out of business anytime soon.
Besides, it's available through the Konami site to purchase.
It seems more like online retailers can't get a hold of Suikoden Tierkreis because Konami's ordering system bugged up. It's not like it hasn't happened in the past. I'd be more concerned if Konami flat out said "We've discontinued the product" than saying "We can't say what's wrong".
The same kind of thing's happening in Canada, I've been checking around and most of the places that were supposed to get the game yesterday or the day before never received anything. Could just be where I live, but at least one other person on Gamefaqs was having a similar problem elsewhere.
I think LanceHeart probably got it right though, that seems like the most likely scenario.

I'm in Canada and it's available pretty much everywhere at retail, but nobody has it online (except retail websites). Amazon.ca doesn't even have a listing for the game.
Fun fact: Searching for Suikoden Tierkreis on Amazon.ca gives you Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume as the first result. The subsequent games aren't even related to the Suikoden series until a few entries down, where Suikoden V pops up.

I'm in Canada as well and the local stores I checked don't seem to have this game in stock.
Upon further searching, I've noticed that only one store actually has the game in stock (when I called a few places they kept saying they had it). That one store would be Gamebuzz. Problem is, their price is 10$ higher than Best Buy and 5$ higher than Future Shop.
This seems like a pretty half assed release in Canada if it were the case (Gamebuzz orders their things directly from the publisher instead of going through corporate).

I got my copy at Futureshop but none of the other places I buy from had it in yet (EBgames, Microplay).
