Spell useage limitations

Post by Oppenheimer »

Is it just me or do you never run out of magic anymore? Whenever I use a mage and attack frequently they end up levelling up before they run out of magic. Then, because they levelled up, they get full magic again. Does anyone else find this?

It works on a sliding scale. Weaker magic that doesn't kill or hurt enough people to give you much experience has lots of uses per level, more powerful magic that blows away multiple enemies has less uses but usually levels you up in one or two uses anyway.

This makes mages very powerful in this game, as there's not much stopping them from casting spells constantly, just as a "fighter" character can attack whenever they want.

I've abused my share of enemies with Shining Wind/Shredding, and yes, you're right, I always seem to level and get all my spells back. Still, it isn't as if Kyril, Lalacle and Kika don't pull their weight =)

It's definitely much better this way. In previous Suikoden games, you quickly run out of spells to use.
