Yes, Konami Japan is really who we want to reach...
Okay its still only the Facebook page, and not the executives themselves, but the folks from the western Konami Facebook page had the decency to respond to us and the good Konami folks in Japan have a tedency to be far more nice and cooperative as well
So lets get to it! xD

I figure the Japanese would be happy about how much we care for Suikoden. That should definitely count towards the decision of a new one.KC_MCDOHL wrote:Yes, Konami Japan is really who we want to reach...

Hallo, new user (and longtime Suikosource stalker) here . Just wanted to throw this in, in case no one's suggested it yet .
How about we have a Suikoden art campaign? It's a relatively simple way to get a lot of attention in a short amount of time, assuming it works . We just get a bunch of really good artists to churn out some Suikoden-related imagery and release it into the internet . Really good bits of art get picked up by DeviantArt, or tumblr or other bloggery websites, and some of the really good ones end up featured on the big geek sites like Geektyrant (like this http://geektyrant.com/news/2011/9/12/ge ... bilbo.html ) or Comics Alliance (it's really more for comics, but they look like this http://www.comicsalliance.com/2011/07/0 ... -07-01-11/ ) or Geek Art (here http://www.geek-art.net/ )
The way people know it's a campaign is wherever we post the art, we can say 'this is part of the 'Pay Attention Konami We Want More Suikoden Games Campaign', or something .
Either way, it'd be a nice way to churn up some attention for the cause. And bring about lotsa nice Suikoden art . What do you think ?

An excellent idea WhiteWolfGuard. I think this could be a very beneficial asset to the ''Suikoden Day''
Okay, after pestering Konami again, from various angles, as to the status of the Official Suikoden Facebook fan page; Brenda was kind enough to reply again, with this:
Chris,
Your FanPage request is being actively reviewed by our internal teams, and I apologize that you haven’t seen any forward movement on this just yet. Please know that these things sometimes take time but I’ve been asked to let you know, that you are not being ignored and they appreciate your active interest in us.
Best Regards,
Brenda

Sadly, I don't think Konami would bat an eye at this.WhiteWolfGuard wrote:Hallo, new user (and longtime Suikosource stalker) here . Just wanted to throw this in, in case no one's suggested it yet .

HOWEVER, this is a great way to remind old fans of the series and revive some some dormant parts of the Suikoden community. I say go.

Re: It's time to Ask Konami about Suikoden 6
And how are we supposed to find the dozens of SUikoden-interested artists?
@KC: Well, better than nothing. We just have to bug them more. I like how activity has grown once more.

Re: It's time to Ask Konami about Suikoden 6
I actually got the idea because I happen to have a buncha friends who happen to be professional artists . And I know that there are also artists / people whose friends are artists within these suikoden-y circles . (And if friendship isn't enough, there's always commissioning those people over at DeviantArt).
The artist doesn't necessarily have to be interested in suikoden (although better if they are n__n). They should just be willing to churn out pieces of awesome work.
Hopefully they end up like these (excuse to share nice art now n__n).
http://aribuwana.deviantart.com/art/GEN ... koden&qo=2
http://offcolor.deviantart.com/art/Suik ... oden&qo=25
http://rcaptain.deviantart.com/art/Gens ... den&qo=246
http://kaiten-yari.deviantart.com/art/S ... oden&qo=87
If Konami has its finger on the pulse of what the geeks online are interested in, there's a chance they'll respond to a widely-spread barrage of suikoden imagery . Aaaand if they don't, like what Xelinis said, it should wake up some of the old fans at least .
And "Please know that these things sometimes take time but I’ve been asked to let you know, that you are not being ignored and they appreciate your active interest in us" sounds pretty good

@ Xelinis - By itself, you are probably right. But itf added to the Suikoden Day, I think this would be an effective idea.
@ Antimatzist - Why, here on Suikosource of course All we can really do is advertise such an event on the various gaming forums, keep our fingers crossed, and see who turns up.

Re: It's time to Ask Konami about Suikoden 6
I really like WhiteWolfGuard idea... but I dont know if konami is going to notice about it.
We can make something special for the suikoden day, I think even the people which cant draw very well can take part for showing their love to the series, and (just an example) we can chose maybe a winner? If you want a contest and need prizes, I have tons, only for you can count with it XD And I think we can make a cosplay contest too? or at least a cosplay gallery, I dont know, we need something cool and big for everybody will join us, artists, cosplayers, collectors and gamers.
Another idea, I think, all of us who has blogs, facebook, twitter or whatever, we can already start talking about the suikoden day, this way people will know whats going on and they can take part on it.

Re: It's time to Ask Konami about Suikoden 6
Suikoden Day sounds pretty awesome n__n. Like an event. I guess the challenge will be how we get fans from around the world involved (because it seems we're all from the four corners of the world ).
We can also sorta reach out to the other Suikoden communities out there n__n. I figure Suikosource is one of the bigger islands in the Suikoden sea, but I just recently discovered that there's an alive-and-kicking community over on tumblr (this being one of its centers: http://starsofdestiny.tumblr.com/ ). And also the people in the Suikogaiden Translation Project (http://ramsus-kun.webs.com/Suikogaiden/Home.htm ) n__n. And...I dunno (I've never been active in fandom, so I'm sure other people would know better n__n). But am pretty sure we'd all want the same thing

Re: It's time to Ask Konami about Suikoden 6
Yeah, I think we should find so many fans as we could. For example, Im from Spain and I know a lot of spanish people who are into suikoden. There is a big spanish suikoden website and I believe theyre would join us. I think its as easy as tell to your friends and in the biggest suikoden community from your own country. This way we will be more and more and thats just great : )
