ok well maybe others can test after getting Diadora if they automatically run faster....
i haven't re-visited the Porposkin city yet but i am aware that the lake appearing causes shifts over in that area. but like i said, i've already picked up the Talisman before the whole lake deal.

I got the Talisman after the shift and it's pretty much the same as prior to it: You have to take the center geyser to reach the level with the Talisman, then you can drop down one floor to get to the pirates.

D87 @ gamefaqs says the speed-up w/out Talisman happened after Tsaubern joined.
