What does "Bocchan" mean?

Post by Freak »

One thing I keep wondering about:
I noticed that a lot of fansites, especially Japanese ones, call Tir McDohl "Bocchan". Where did that come from? Is it some kind of fan nickname?

I'd say this:

Maybe just because he is the son of Teo.

Ah, so are Snowe, Reinbach III and the other noble children called that as well?

It is a nickname used by the servants for the young son(s) of their masters, but not always the case.

Mickey also calls Reinbach III by the name, I think. Snowe didn't have any non-silent servant characters making an appearance.

Snowe is called "young master" in English by a few townspeople and Keneth in the bath scene, so I've been curious about what it is in the Japanese, like if they add -sama to the end of his name or something else like bocchan.

He's called "Snowe bocchama" in some lines I recall (Tal said it once as well). Bocchama and Bocchan are pretty much the same word.

Ah, thanks Vex! I really wish I could find Japanese clips, but Youtube is pretty much lacking them.
