Camille and Rachel

Rachel is from the fourth game, around 150 years prior the first game events.
She wields a weapon named Garmr --> Fenrir --> Loki

Camille also wields a weapon of the same, with the first levels named Galm (probably from the translation)
Galm --> Fenrir --> Loki

150 years gap, same weapon name, both are debt collectors.
I smelled ancestor - descendant relation.

So many characters in Suikoden series that share some sort of relation with one another, be it obvious or in small details that passes our notice at first.
I guess I kinda like to look for such relations.

You'll find many relationships thoughout the entire series. That's what makes it so interesting imo.

I think Rachel was meant to be an homage to Camille (and yes, probably an ancestor). I've heard many times that IV intended to "go back to Suikoden's roots", in terms of game play and such. That homage is probably a part of that.

If Rachel is actually Camille's ancestor, then that's one heck of long standing family traditions (debt collectors).

Not to mention a very old and rustic weapon (if its indeed the same weapon though).

Same color. I'm not sure about the style since Camille's sprite hair is a bit hard to see. I'm sure this site has real pics, though. *Proceeds to look*

You smell ancestor I smell bad storytelling. Its easier to rip your predcessors off an not get called out on it then it is to just make your own story.

Ya, that maybe, Suikoden 4 is the worst of the series IMO.
Maybe its just a simple homage, albeit hard to notice at first.
