In the new rules:
The "an" before user.
Avatars Make your avatars small.
Avatars must be less than or equal to 20KB and 100x100px.
Animations must not loop exceedingly quickly.
Signatures Signatures are allowed, but are limited to 255 characters.
Images in signatures are not allowed.
Images Images in posts are allowed under the following terms:
They may be used only for explanations (like screens) that cannot, or can hardly, be described with text alone.
Images are limited to 100KB per file.
If an user abuses one of these rules more than once, his privilege to post images will be removed.
Attachments Attachments are allowed, but are limited to 256KB per file.
If you have a bigger file, you'll have to host it on your own webspace.

I disagree. I believe that "user" is an exception to the rule due to its pronunciation, much like the word "honest". You don't, or shouldn't, say "a honest mistake". It should be "an honest mistake". If you actually say "an user" it sounds off, whereas saying "a user" sounds much better. I could be wrong, but I'm rather confident that it was fine as is.

She was saying that "an" goes before a vowel, (a, e, i, o, u) so if you want to get technical, it would be "an" User, but people prnounce it "a user". Either way, nobody really cares.

Alright we're leaving it as "an" regardless of if that's right or not.
