an unfortunate name...

Post by Sogetsu »

So, I was browsing Suikosource and then I found this:

http://www.suikosource.com/chars/list/?char_id=678

I albost fell of the chair, laughing because "Dupa" in Polish means "ass"

But that's not the first case of an unfortunate name. the word "Koudelka" is very similar to "Kołderka", which means "quilt" in Polish. there was also this character named "Hui" in a Tobal game and the word is spelled almost like a vulgar name for male genitals

Wow.....I feel sorry for lizard boy........

(This sounds like something that needs to be talked about in my topic.....) *gasp*

What kind of 'ass' does it cover? The ass itself or the animal as well?

Dupa in my language means: "Kneel and stretch your arms sideward." It's sort of a punishment for people (mainly naughty kids) and they'd make you do that for an extended period of time.....

......I rarely received that sort of punishment when I was a kid. The last time I did that was around two years ago......and infront of the driveway(+while wearing our school uniforms) for people to see. ( good thing a vehicle was blocking us from sight.)

Wow, I used Wikipedia and that seems about right when they were using it on WoW to describe my keyboard problem I had one day...couldn't do anything, half the time I pressed one key it put in like 2 or 3 letters and the other half it either skipped the letter or doubled it...so yeah, it was pretty fubar :)

Co-incidentally my bf is just starting to play Suikoden III and apparently he knows what FUBAR means in military terms and that's all he thinks of whenever he plays Hugo's scenerios, needless to say, it's distracting lol
