I think she was wondering how you discovered the characters' levels and such. Just a guess, he probably let the load finish and then dumped the memory from the emulator or with his GameShark. It's all there after the save import. Some of it, like Pesmerga's level, might get changed later, but that's nothing to do with bringing in the save.Marsil79 wrote:No. I just added the characters to the active party using a gameshark.

Re: [FAQ] Transferring Suikoden I save data
Here's what I did:
1) Created a save in Suikoden using a gameshark to manipulate levels, weapon levels and equipment.
2) Loaded the save in Suikoden II
3) Used a gameshark to add 4 of the transfer characters right after starting a new game, noted their characteristics
4) back to step 2 and added 4 different characters.
While unrecruited characters normally have level 1 if sharked into your party, the transfer characters have their calculated level.

Re: [FAQ] Transferring Suikoden I save data
I have a problem transfering Suikoden 1 data to S2.
I'm sure that Suikoden I is PAL,and S2 must be NTSC because in the Playstation begining screen it says "America" instead of "Europe".
So i suppose both games must be PAL in order to transfer data from one game to another?
P.S. my last save was in Gregminster by the way

Yeah it must be same version... That's why I still prefer US one since it's really hard to find a PAL save that "perfect".

If I'm not mistaken, you need to save your game in Suik 1 at the last save point before fighting the Golden Dragon / BarbosaSasarai10 wrote:I have a problem transfering Suikoden 1 data to S2.

beautiful!
actually shouldn't we make a note about the frequently-experienced "characters join at level 99" glitch that completely botches many of the expected results?

Re: [FAQ] Transferring Suikoden I save data
I was giving it a thought. But for the sake of consitency, we had to post similar note to all of our guides then. Almost everything in this game can be more or less affected by glitches.
Besides, there are many sticky threads about glitches already. We could make a seperate site with all the bugs, but Pyriels page covers everything already, I think. And I have very little time to convert all that into html for the website.

Re: [FAQ] Transferring Suikoden I save data
Priority of developing in S1 to use in S2.
Reasoning: The bonus level is of limited use if characters are in use late. The bonus weapon level are always good.
Viktor and Flik are in use earlier, but too dependant on storylines, so it's not important to level them.
Luc, Tai Ho, Yamkoo, Clive, Meg, Hix, Tengaar, then Stallion are free to use so it's profitable to have them at high level/best weapon.
The rest is available too late. They would be equivalent or slightly lower level than default state of the party.
Overall, the bonus weapon level is of more use than bonus level.

Actually Clive's weapone is much higher if you have S1 data loaded...i think it's 13 if you have upgraded it to the maximum in S1

No, it's 10 instead of 7. The maximum weapon level bonus you get is +3.Sasarai10 wrote:Actually Clive's weapone is much higher if you have S1 data loaded...i think it's 13 if you have upgraded it to the maximum in S1
