Does anyone else have this problem?

I've had my suikoden 2 for about 6 years now and I have yet to be able to use riou's final rune ability(except during the mcdohl mission). I've beaten it like 10 times and I never had it in my rune options dispite riou being like lvl 60. He was still able to use the 4th ability on the other runes i attach to him but just not the bright sheild rune.

You need to have collected the 108 stars of destiny before the attack on Rockaxe to unlock the 4th spell of the Bright Shield Rune.

Hmm, I did get all the 108 stars in one play through and the good ending also but don't remember having the 4th spell ever.

Possible problems:
1. You got someone killed during the major battles.
2. You didn't get 108 SoDs before the briefing when about to attack Rockaxe.
3. Your game is screwed.
