Hans recruitment money options

I was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes Hans to gather either 30,000 or 300,000 potch in order to open the armory at the castle. I assume it takes longer if you ask for the larger amount, but I have never tried before.

However, after recently discovering that you can visit Two River just after fleeing Muse, I thought it might be interesting to ask for the larger amount before meeting up with Eilie's group. That way, hopefully, by the time I get back to Two River he might have the money ready.

Thanks for your videos, I am replaying the game for the first time after a long while, and despite knowing about the Mathilda glitch & visiting Greenhill early I had never seen that you could visit Two River. What I decided to do was to ask for 300k from Hans on my little counter-clockwise trip around the lake before returning to Coronet to meet up with Eilie & co.

Hopefully, by the time I get back to Two River after doing Cave of the Wind, Neclord, Shu, & all that, Hans will have a nice big pile of money ready for me. Of course, since I am playing slowly, doing a lot of rare treasure hunting, I am not sure how precise I will be able to get, but at least I will be able to narrow it down a bit. It seemed in the past that he was able to come up with the 30k option within an hour.

Although I don't know how long it will take Hans to save up but if your goal is to get more potches then that doesnt sound good.

The purpose to recruit Hans early is to abuse his max potch trick, let's assume he'd return to you with 300k as payment but only after the mission in Greenhill for exemple. In other case, by using mathilda glitch to meet him early and if you offered him a free place in HQ to open his store, you would be able to abuse his shop trick to get 999k potches right after defending North window from highland attack (if i remember right) which means max money even before Fletcher's invitation.

The only moment I'm gonna use that glitch is when upgrading weapon for everyone and Tessai comes near end game..

And shop in this game just not that useful after Jowy's betrayal. Most great equipments and runes gained from treasure chest or monster drops after that. This is also the idea for Clive's quest + PG challenge. While shopping still needed, you won't waste much money. So getting 900k in early game actually pointless especially for Gordon's trade...

Not bad idea to make Hans collecting money but also not that worth.

I was doing this partially just to see how long it might take because I had never taken that option before. By the time I got back to Two River, post Cave of the Wind/North Window, Hans had the money ready, so it apparently takes no more than 5 hours for him to get that much potch together.

Lol, thanks for the info anyway. Also a bonus since it won't take 20 hours for Clive's quest challenge. Too bad money isn't main issue on the challenge...
