toe shoes not required to get mina?

I dont think you need the toe shoes to recruit mina. I just got her and did not have them equiped on the hero. I DID have some in my inventory, i think gremio had them equipped so im not sure if that made a difference but the hero was wearing a mangosh and defense ring. Mina danced with me (i seemed to dance piss poorly) but she joined me afterward

is the guide here just wrong? It says they're required.

Well... my experience is that they ARE required to get her.
BUT maybe your hero had them in his inventory (just not equipped)?

Iirc I never had them equipped in the hero. Maybe the requirement is really just to have it in the inventory? But Im not sure.

i guess any character has to have it.. gremio had them equiped. Still the dance was terrible but it worked. I'll have to try actually equiping them next playthrough and see if the dance looks different =P

Nah sadly the dance doesn't look different.
