Playboy's Suikoden III News Article

Post by Roshambeaux »

Yes, that Playboy website has an article about Suikoden III and it can be read at: http://www.playboy.com/articles/wage-wa ... ikoden-psn

I was shocked when I heard about it and thought someone was just trolling.
A raw tomato for the win!

Well, Wired and Forbes covered Suikoden II, so the series is, for the first time now, being covered by mainstream press, not just game sites and magazines.

I'm surprised the SRM haven't posted it on facebook yet.

Well, it is Playboy. The second I whitelisted their scripts in my browser, the article was overlaid by an ad for the 50 Best Booties issue or some damn thing. Maybe they're just timid about linking to softcore porn.

It's actually written better than most of the articles the SRM do share on facebook.

As a lot of our followers are from Indonesia, a Muslim country, and cannot access the page. It'd be just for the lolz anyway.

Maybe this will finally convince Konami that there is a market for Suikoden VI.

That is precisely it. Though, I would not use the word "timid," rather "deliberate." Roughly 1/4 of our members are from Malaysia or Indonesia, certainly Malaysia blocks Playboy, and accessing the site may even be a legal infraction. (like a speeding ticket) I believe it is the same with Indonesia, though I've not verified that yet, even though Indonesia is a much more secularized country, its population is mostly Muslim and Christian.

I will never post this. I would never offend or ostricize those in Asia. Also, especially with the pop-ups, it is certainly NSFW, and while we have no real policy for that, prudence dictates being cautious.

EDIT: Also, UAE and Jordan block the site, and we have many members there, with EU Facebook accounts and possibly mirror IPs, etc, and so on. There are many reasons not to share this.

thanks for verifying that. Yeah, that is what "secularized" means: that Indonesia does not have an established Church or religion. Being diseshtablishmentarianistic, but somewhat religious, as opposed to the UK, which is still technically establishmentarian, but largely areligious.
