It's from a 70s comc book Arzach. Could be an inspiration.

I guess the second picture is the original one. The French comics were released in the US under the name "Heavy Metal", maybe some of you know the movie based on the comics. Nice stuff. I wonder if Murayama read the comics.

This is very obviously the work of Moebius, a prominent French cartoonist of science fiction, his style is very easy to recognize, it looks typically like his work.

Moebius is awesome, a real legend, don't think twice before you read everything he did!
