Campaigning to get Viktor in a future Super Smash Bros. game

Post by Roshambeaux »

So Nintendo is asking gamers to vote for gamers to get their favorite video game characters be in a Super Smash Brothers game, and someone at SRM's Facebook page suggested Viktor. Since it's realistic to get 1 Suikoden character at most, we might as well pick a good representative for the series. I'm not a big fan of the SSB series, but I thought of creating a new thread; so here's the link:

Do they ever use characters that have never appeared in a game compatible with a Nintendo system? Off hand, the only possibility I could think of was Snake, but it turns out several of the more recent Metal Gears were on the GameCube, and I wasn't dreaming when I thought the earlier ones had gotten NES ports.

The webpage never mentioned any restrictions or the parameters of which characters are allowed to be voted in, so I assume that anyone is available. Although, I can see Nintendo having to through the potential hurdle of running into copyright troubles in the process. But for now, might as well get Viktor in since it's free and doesn't take much time.

Better choose the most iconic Suikoden character.

I believe Murayama has stated that Viktor is indeed the series' main character.

Viktor would be better suited for Playstation Allstars Battle Royale instead of Smash Brothers. I know it's the knockoff game, but at least Suikoden is a Playstation game.

If anything is going to get added to Smash Brothers it better be Simon Belmont (or Black Mage).

Yeah, wouldn't make much sense to put a Suikoden character in a Nintendo game (unless they use a Tierkreis character)
I know there was also the card stories thing on Gameboy Advance, but did that even get an English release? There'd be a load of Nintendo fans going "Who the F is he?"

Well, that hasn't stopped them with other characters from what I understand. There are a few on the roster that are from games only released in Japan, so maybe that's the "in" for Viktor. I have no idea if Card Stories actually sold more than 20 copies, or if Viktor featured prominently in it, though.

What If Thread: Suikoden in Smash Bros.

Post by Pen »

Well, I made this on Gamefaqs, but since it was on a game board, I think is better make here:

I know, I know this would never happen. But, let's dream if that happens, which character Konami would choose, and which stage you guys think would be choosen to represent the series?

Or at least, which one you would like to be choosen?

Thanks the mod for merging the thread!

As much I like Viktor, one of the protagonists would make more sense. BUT he could be a Assist Trophy!

Well, I will make some move options for each protagonist. Let's start with Tir first:

Intro Animation: He gets teleported on the battlefield with sound effects resembling Viki magic.(In fact, I think all Suikoden heroes will do that)

Win pose 1
: He show the player his back and give him a thumbs up, like when after you choose his name in Suikoden 1.

Win Pose 2: He makes the same pose he do in the official artwork.

Taunt 1: Spin his staff.

Taunt 2: Fish in a bucket.

Special Attack: Soul Eater: Finger of Death
-Tir points towards the enemy like a gun, and fire a short range black lazer.

Up Special attack: Double-Beat Rune
-Tir attack two times upwards.

Down Special attack: Flowing Rune: Protection Mist
-Tir takes a combat stance and get envoloped by some mist, making him imune to projectiles as long he is at it, only physical attacks hit him.

Final Smash: Soul Eater: Judgement
-Same animation as the games, Great part of the battlefield is taken by the pentagram, and anyone inside it gets heavy damage.

I will try to make for the other heroes soonish enough.

Now, Riou:

Intro Animation: He gets teleported on the battlefield with sound effects resembling Viki magic.

Win pose 1: Spin his Tonfas the same way when he is at the name select screen and win a duel.

Win Pose 2: The same one when he recruits a Star of Destiny.

Taunt 1: Spin his Tonfas and make the same pose as the official artwork.

Taunt 2: The same one he does on the World Map, with his Tonfas.

Special Attack: Bright Shield: Shining Light
-Riou create a short burst of light that hit nearby targets.

Up Special attack: Gale Rune
-Charge upwards fast, using the wind.

Down Special attack: Resurrection Rune: Charm Arrow.
-Leaves a symbols on the ground that acts like a Explosive Mines.

Final Smash: Bright Shield: Forever Sign
-Same animation as Suikoden II. A light appears at the center of the battlefield, and have a like a black hole properties, who suck everything near it for continious damage. Riou Damage % is recovered by 100 point.

Now, I dunno who use for Suikoden III next. Maybe Chris, since we will need a female representant.
