Suikoden rip-off

Post by Gudda »

I found something interesting while searching for Suikoden news.
It seems that someone have made 2 games that are using the suikoden concept.
Suikoden I & II graphics but story and characters are different.
I have just started it and not been able to play it so much.
But it seems ok.
Hat off for the dudes that made these games.

Maybe this is posted already, but I hope I can make someone happy with this post.

Below is the developers address.

Cheers!

This is a very, very indie game developer. Exit Fate in particular is actually very well known amongst the RPGMaker communities. As long as he doesn't sell it, he's fine.

Exit Fate is really a great Suikoden-inspired game. He also uses a lot of music from Final Fantasy and the like.

I'm sure I'll try it out one of these days. I'd have to get a Windows emulator though...

Exit Fate is really great....i think that i'm playing S2 with other characters, and different battle system. All the other things are similar.

Note the fact that Exit Fate makes a reference to Suikoden. I just found it yesterday....it was an item called "Menu Set #5",and it has to do with Suikoden settings if i'm right....someone who has played Exit Fate must know about the use of this item.

I've just seen this thread and am very interested; is there any way to play this on a laptop/ps1?

That's the fansite.

Get the game from SCF's place. http://site.scfworks.com/?page_id=10

Yeah, it's hard, you need to get the best equipment etc a lot, sharpen your weapons and stuff.

Is there a way to make him run faster? The keyboard controls are so limited it annoys me, like you can only choose from 7 letters.....

It's not that difficult, once you get used to it.

Except the healing items, there are some spells who can heal your allies, like Mend,Mend-All,etc.
Mist-Monster is not that hard really...try buying a lot of splash spells, since Mist Monster is lightning element, and it has a weakness against water.

Looks like a great game, I think its more of a 'homage' rather than a rip-off. Rip-off's are more when someone deliberately copies something for their own personal gain usually at the expense of the original creator

Since this is a indie game and its completely free to download, it appears more that this was SCF's attempt to do what they could with what they have to make a fun RPG that was similar to the RPG's that they were a fan of.
The answer is 42

Too much grinding btw, so boring. Will abandon unless there's some kind of walkthrough haha

Yeah I tend to grind a lot, too, to get good equipment from the enemies (and money haha).
