Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgment announced for PSN & XBLA

From what I can see, this thing is coming out in English first. January 20th for XBLA and 21st for PSN.

Yeah, every press release from Konami was mentioned both versions. A date isn't announced for the PSN version, but it was only announced by An Xbox site, which would have no reason to list the PSN release date. Sony is usually pretty bad about announcing PSN release dates before they happen. Speculation points to the 21, as PSN updates are always on Thursday. We won't know until Sony says something, though.

That's pretty common for smaller games right now. Its really the only way it can be so inexpensive at launch, so I'm all for it. Last console generation, a company might have take a game with that much content, padded it out and charged $50 for a $15-20 game. I also like having games right on the hard drive.

I wonder how much this originates from the planned Vandal Hearts for the DS.

It's likely they wanted to make this game and just outsourced it with their storyboards when the project was canned back then.

Strangely enough, Vandal Hearts on DS might have been popular when compared to the current platforms they're using for this game.

actually, ds should have been the system for this game. i think it would have been fun to see this game on a smaller system. since it hasn't been out since the second installment.
valkyrie profile was a fun game on the ds and this one could have been also.

I'm glad its on consoles - it'll have just as much content, with much better graphics, and half the price! Handheld screens make my eyes hurt if I'm playing one for longer than fifteen minutes. If there's one trend in the games industry I can't stand, its the JRPG march from consoles onto handhelds.

I'll concede that the game probably would have sold more on DS, though.

Yeah, I didn't mention anything outside of popularity because I personally hate having to spend dozens upon dozens of hours on platforms that have six and four hour full charges for their batteries. I only ever play JRPGs on portables at home anymore since I can't read text when in transit, either.

Makes me wonder why they haven't worked on making DS and PSP adapters for the Wii and PS3. I especially hate how I need to be within six feet of my TV if I even want to play PSP games through the component cable set.

ahhhh, it ain't that bad man i play my psp on my 37 inch samsung with red, blue, and green connection. so it is pretty good. but i have my ps3 on a hdmi cable connection.
i use the psp as the controller and play.
