They pronounce it pretty right.

Okay, I have no idea how to pronounce this word, the last poster said it's "tiakrais". Could someone break that down for me phonetically? I still have no idea how I'd say that.

The Japanese trailer pronounces it Tear-Krice around 3:00.

The English trailer pronounces it Tee-air-kreeze around 1:18. (Though, this article indicates that they "murder" the pronunciation)

Since it's a German word, I suspect the German pronunciation (Tear-Krice) would be the best to go by.

EDIT:
Oppenheimer wrote:I can see this name causing trouble:

Previously:
Me: "Do you have Suikoden V in yet? It's out today"
EBgames lackie "What five?"
Me: "Suikoden . . . S-u-i-k-o-d-e-n"
EB: *types it in* "Well, it's supposed to be out, but we don't have it yet. Try back later"
Repeat later that day

Now:
Me: "Do you have Suikoden Tierkreis in yet? It's out today"
EBgames lackie "What what?"
Me: "Suikoden . . . S-u-i-k-o-d-e-n, Tierkreis . . . T-i-e-. . ."

you get the point. *sigh*
As a side note, this pretty much describes my experience picking the game up last week. Eventually, I gave up and started asking for "that new RPG on the DS".

Yeah, my German friends say "Tierkreis" is basically "Tear"-"Criess" (cries, but instead of ending with a z sound you end with s).

Suikoden was never a problem for me since French people pronounce the "ui" as "wi", which is basically what the Japanese say.

It almost sounds like Teo-Crys in that recording, or maybe it's just me.

In regards to the initial point of this topic; I'd say the use of the word Tierkreis comes from the 12 chronicles which give your characters the Mark of the Stars.

And I tend to pronounce it tier-cry-s. Short s sound.
