Question about upgrading skills and magic

Post by Aeris Blight »

let me give you an example: I have upgraded Belcoot's technique to C... but it's possible to pick up things that should lvl up the teachers. SO I thought, Now I can learn Belcoot an A technique... but it wont change... gah ^^" it's a little hard to explain, I hope you ppl understand what I mean.

I know that some skills can't upgrade any further... But EVERYTHING stays at level C.... Can someone plz help me? TT at this rate, NO ONE will be able to reach lvl A

You'll get some key items that will allow you to have higher skill ranks.

Did u go to the combat/tutors at shops? those can only teach u up to C. If u have the required item like elementary combat u need to use ur characters to teach u. For combat u can use the combat skill of Zegai or georg while for magic u can use the tutor skill of Zereas or Levi

Use your tutors/teachers in the castle: Levi and Zegai.

ahhh ^^ thanks! I missed my chance at getting Zegai... but George will do as soon as he will come back to me ^_^

I also don't have Levi, so I guess Zerase will help me out.

Thanks people! ^^" I was really in a fix *smiles*

One more question! I have a couple of skills, but no one seems to be able to use them ( combination skills, like attack/technique ) How can I make someone equip it?

The S level magic is in Eresh's dungeon, I think...

As for the Epic skills, the character must already have the component skills (like attack and technique, for your example) at level A before the Epic skill becomes available.

Oh, that's right I remember now. So what's that called when you pick it up? Something better than "Advanced" magic? Where's the "S" level combat tutor ability then? The items guide sticky only mentions the "advanced" items.

Hmm...actually, I'm not so sure about that S-magic thing now, as the Collectibles thread says this:
Trainer Books:

Basic Magic - Ceras Lake
Basic Combat - Lelcar
Elementary Magic - Sable
Elementary Combat - Sauronix
Intermediate Magic - Hershville
Intermediate Combat - Ceras Lake Ruins after Castle level 3
Advanced Magic - Sol Falena (during assault)
Advanced Combat - West Palace
I might have confused it with Sacred Oath. I've been in New Game Plus for a while now, so all I see are 10000 potch. ^^;;

Yeah I read that too, now I'm really confused.

So what level does Basic etc. equivalent to?

Basic = D
Elementary = C
Intermediate = B
Advanced = A?

or is it
Bas= C
E= D
I = A
Adv = S?

Basic = B
Elementary = A
Intermediate = S
Advanced = SS

You don't need to unlock D & C, since every trainer in the world can do that automatically.

Also, each of the trainer books unlock all the lower levels as well. I know because I missed Intermediate Combat in my first game, but got Advanced Combat, and could still train up to SS.
