How can I defeat Martin in chapter 12?

I'm just wondering what charcter should I use.

If i recall correctly, there is an "unwinnable" battle with him. Im not sure though. But about the characters, Lalacle is the best monster but looks like you're not yet in a New Game+. Lazlo sure is the best character, use him if you've loaded a Cleared Suikoden IV data. Those two are the best.

Which battle is it?(I think you fight him three times, if I remember correctly)

What are you problems? Can't you beat just Martin or are his Soldiers a problem for you too?
Have you got the best equipment available at the moment?


Well, I would recommend using a fire character(Kyril is a good choice, as he should be your strongest character), since then, he will be healed too if he is on martins Fire Terrain. Then use something to make Martin stand on Water Terrain and Attack with all you've got. Then, he should be dead in no time.

It's the first time I seen him and he's level 18.Do I have to beat Suikoden 4 first?

Not necessarily. If you want lazlo and Snowe and if you want some background to Suikodne tactics, I would recommend it.

Yes. You can get him and he's a combination of a wizard and a warrior cause he's got the rune of Punishment.

Always use these Elemental Pearls on yourself so you always stay on your terrain. That makes you a lot stronger and heals you a bit. lways buy best armor, have always the best skills, and sharpen your weapons to maximum. If you need money/skill points, go monste rhunting or to obel Ruins. Do a lot of Quests in the Quest guild, so you get money and some extra items.

IF you do so, you should "easily" survive your first playthrough. Your second playthrough will be much easier.

Honestly, I don't remember very much from that game, but I remember Sword magic being awesome.

If Rene's quest is hard, try recruiting more characters and figuring out how to use their strengths first, then you should be able to bring an effective, full party to the battle.
