delay until usable is when the unite "recharges" so it can be activated again. you need to go through a couple turns with the unite characters in battle together.

That's what I guessed. I guess I just didn't wait long enough and got impatient.

So, the green marks on the ground show how to line up for an available combo?
You know that indestructible black box that is used on airplanes?
Why don't they make the whole plane out of that stuff?

Yes, they signify every place you can move to which will let you use at least one unite.

Looks like all possible pairs of Good Will relationship have 5 Talk scenes each. Anyone up for some (or, rather, plenty of) script writing exercise? Or does the official guide already have all these?

The guide just says who can have good will, it doesn't have the actual conversation. I'll give writing them down a shot. I'll post them here when I get some.
And if I saw you dancing, I would spin you around, spin you around, turn your world upside down

lol? all the dialogue for each level of each good will? Chris, spare yourself the trouble and a large chunk of time. Basically most of the dialogue pertains to suikoden 4. If someone is really interested in the dialogue, they should just play suiko 4 if they didn't.
Although maybe you guys can write down the dialogue between the new characters in tactics like Kyril, andarc seneca corselia coop... etc. That's more humanly possible and efficient.

Meh. I could still do it. It's not like I have anything else to do. Besides, other people might like to see it without all of the time and effort.

That's a good starting point, actually. Since there are so many pairings to choose from, we could start off with whichever pairing that's more desirable. If it was me, I'd choose the ones with Hero in it, simply because his talkative self in Rhapsodia sure was a pleasant surprise to me.

In which case, we need to clear up one primary question. Any strategy to get all 5 levels of Good Will conversation in the least amount of time? Does the guide says anything about this?

I'm not sure, but I'm fairly certain the conversations are linked to the amount of turns the characters are in battle together rather than the amount of time.
I hope everything is going delicious.

SencaAndarc
S-Andarc...
A-...
S- Hey, you! Andarc!
A-Wha--?! What do you want?
S-Aren't you a little tense lately?
A-N-None of your business!
S-Hey, I'm just worried about you...
A-Yeah, I know...Sorry.
S-Not that you're ever not tense, I guess...

SenecaKyril
S-Kyril, how are you feeling?
K-Not as well as before...but I'll be okay. Sorry for worrying you all.
S-Don't sweat it!

AndarcKyril
A-Is there something wrong, Kyril?
K-Umm...Not really...
A-If there is, please let me know. I will help as best as I can.
K-Gotcha. Thanks. You shouldn't overdo it either, Andarc.
A-No, no! It's my duty to assist you, Kyril...
And if I saw you dancing, I would spin you around, spin you around, turn your world upside down

well i don't remeber the dialogue exactly but Simeon played it cool with Jeane, unlike Roget who talked to her like he was on viagra.

I'm having some problems triggering Talks beyond Lv 1 for the non-plot characters. Does any of the guides actually details the method to get them?

Also, do Good Will levels carry over to New Game+? In other words, say, if you've unlocked Talks up to Lv 3 between a certain pair of characters, can you continue to get the higher levels in a new game without redoing those lower level ones? Or do you have to restart from scratch?

Here's a new one for now:

Andarc & Seneca
Lv 4

S: Hey, Andarc.
A: Yes?
S: Kyril really has grown into a strong young man lately, don't you think?
A: Hmm... Indeed, he has.
S: He probably won't need our help for much longer.
A: What?! Even if he says he doesn't need my help anymore, I swore that I would be loyal for the rest of my life!
S: Sheesh. I know, already! I was kidding. Sort of. But... Well... I think I'll stick with him, too.
