How does Prosperity Rune Works?

I notice it didn't work because when I put the character that I equip with it the potch I got from battle is the same.

I don't really know. One possibility could be: Only monsters killed by the character who has the rune equipped will drop more potch.

Similarly, I don't know if Fortune Rune will net you more Skill Points in total.

yeah i never really "tested" it. i know emulators can make it easier to test nowadays, but back then even a simple battle takes a while and you'd want to repeat the same enemy configuration just to check the difference in potch gained...
