Woah. Thanks for the informations I really love it. So we have a new producer now... who's this Matsugawa Tomonori? Is he an old member of the Suikoden developers' team?

Staff

Postby dragonmasterx » Sun Sep 18, 2005 9:10 am

The 3 main members of the staff are:
Producer - Matsugawa Tomonori
Director – Sakiyama Takahiro
Art Director – Tanaka Hotsuki

Does anyone know what games they have worked on in the past? Were they already part of the Suikoden staff, just in different positions?

Matsugawa was the producer of Oz, if I'm not mistaken.

What does an "Art Director" do, exactly?

They oversee almost all aspects of the design and production process and are usually responsible for creating the “look and feel”.

I made a topic about battle mechanics on this forum, but I'll post it here so more people will see it:

"and that party members can rotate in and out of battle, much like in Final Fantasy X."

Sounds like the in-battle character switching from Rhapsodia will be present.

The main thing I'm worried about is the annoying load time that was present when switching teams in Suikoden 4.

There's also the chance that switching out characters wont be necessary due to lack of challenge unless they plan on making s5 as challenging as Rhapsodia is.
I hope everything is going delicious.

Judging from the commentary from Norikazu, we'll be getting a world map again. Also, seeing as the Hero is being described as "visible on the world map", we won't be dealing with ships and the like the entire time, as some people might've been fearing.

I'm sure switching characters will be fast and easy like it is in FFX.

However, there are a few second of loading time for character switching in FFX.

If there's no loading time for character switching at all like in Rhapsodia, then that would be most awesome.

True, it's just that I don't really notice it in FFX. I switch characters out every battle I face so..lol

Here's an official Suikoden 5 scan if no one has seen it yet. (since I can't post in the official Suiko5 thread)
