Who else has forgot Squall's deadly gunblade?

You can have an L-ranged Tenkai that uses a gun for normal attack, and the gunblade for critical attacks.
Or the other way around.

How about a staff with a blade on each end? Like Kyril's, but longer, slimmer and more like 2 small longswords on the ends.

Staffs are meant to be blunt weapon, your description sounds like a naginata with blade on both tips. When we reduce the length it might become a boomerang like yuffie ff7 weapon.

A scythe would look cool on the new hero, Growlanser 2 MC has a Scythe and it make him look awesome.

I actually find Kyril's weapon to be similar to the one used by the Anti-Mage in Defense Of The Ancients. Except Kyril dual-wields that.

Well, I think as of now, the weapon should fit the place and the person wielding it. If we'd just have a setting like the Zexen Knights as an example and someone running around wielding a Scythe it would seem a bit out of place.

Tir in Suikoden got trained by that guy Kai or what his name was, I think.
Riou in II was trained by Genkaku.

The list just goes on and on.

I actually have two characters in my mind,and what i would od if i CAN make a video game...
- A male character, he is more older,middle-aged man around 30s,this will setting a contrast between him and fellow tenkai hero, he is unique because he uses a fencing style but use a cane,Not a shikomizue, just a simple cane.
- A female character, which will also set a contrast between the tenkai heroes, using a single tessen(Iron fan->See mitsunari ishida of samurai warriors) to fight. THe movement is more graceful...
