1. Fight vs Troy and Colton- Winnable?

Post by Antimatzist »

Is the first fight vs. Troy and Colton actually winnable, like the fight against Rowd in SII, or is it absolutely impossible?

No, it isn't winnable. If you don't cheat they will surely beat you. If you do cheat, the battle will end early.

What do you mean by that? So it IS winnable? i mean, it is possible to get to Lvl 99 without cheating(just play the game without saving, train at Reinhold's and then wehen all Characters you need are at Lvl 99, lose a battle on purpose...) and I don't think Trox and Colton could ever beat a Lvl 99 Party!?(after a New Game+ you have additionally very good equipment...)

No, the battle is not winnable. If you use cheat codes, the battle will be terminated by the game, with no winner and the game will go on as usual.
And if I saw you dancing, I would spin you around, spin you around, turn your world upside down

Not winnable, because I was playing and he killed three of my people, before I could bring them back (at least one of them) the game ended the battle.

Yeah, either by using a bug or by saving before the fight, then you fight him normally and lose, progress with the story(without saving!), then you use he matilda-glitch, level up, get beat. so you start from your savepoint before the fight, but with Lvl 40 Characters...

Uh... that would be a great idea if it wasn't for the fact that Suikoden IV doesn't employ that "Don't give up"-system.

Oh sorry, I didn't know that. Imo it's more difficult to see the "Game Over"screen on S IV than winning against Rita 10 times in a row.

Ok, that makes my idea obsolete... entirely.

You can kill Colton actually, but since the game consider Troys HP as infinite, you can never win the battle.

I'm not sure about the post Antimatzist posted so if he didn't say yes then I am...I beat him after like 20-40 tries ( can't remember but it was took ALOT of tries, 30 sounds about right though), anyways you just have to have the rune scrolls from in the chests before the mist monster boss...just use clay guardian and fire arrows to start off killing the rest of the enemies and to keep you from dying..then use all the other damaging ones you have..and make sure you have medicine equipped so you can heal cause its a very long fight, due to his frikin water rune he has to have...by the way Mukamuka helps out alot.

There is (at least in the PAL-Version) a bug.. during the fight with Rowd, when he uses his Water Rune, there is some strange noise and all your attacks deal like 1000 damage... but I have never seen this before.
