Well thats news to me

you do it the same way as final fantasy?
Yep. Shoulder keys + Start + Select. I remember doing it a lot to get Winged Boots early on at Kyaro in Suikoden 2.

you cant soft reset.... square enix has nothing to do with this game
Hah. I know its pointless in me saying so, but that tickled my funny bone so to speak.
LMAO, same here.

There are soft resets in WAY too many games to even think of. And that's not even for just Playstatio games. Gamecube and XBox have soft resets as well.

soft reset=start,select,r1,r2,L1,L2, if you reset it that way then its from square soft and its 1 of there games

if you reset it other than pressing the power button or reset button and its not from square soft then ive never heard of that before and id be very interested to know how to do it.
No it's not. I use it pretty often in many games. Heck, Suikoden IV has it.

And yet, it could be done in Suikoden I, which was released about a year before FF VII.

I am sure there were games before this with the soft reset feature.

Cause it's very difficult... here are the instruction:

1.) Press down the buttons.

Now comes the hard part...

2.) Keep holding the buttons down.

Actually, a reason it may not be working is because the analouge feature on controllers. Sometimes if you don't hold it down tight enough (especially the shoulder buttons) it doesn't even know you're pressing them.

And indeed the soft reset is used everywhere. Tenchu, Silent Hill, and Resident Evil are all from different companies but all have soft reset.

don't forget, soft reset works only when you perfectly sycronize your buttom smashing! if one is off, you'll find that a 4 minnute wait still hasn't yeild a soft rest.

Funny, this topic turned from "your game isn't bugged" to "soft reset fan club"

let me say again, my Mordo island trader won't talk to me every now and then. yeh I found a glitch.

Eao, is that the guy at the Trade-Post? Imagine if it was the guy who tells you about Snowe...that'd make me so angry if THAT was a glitch/bug!
