Equipment Sets

In Suikoden 3, equipment sets were introduced into the series, such as the Pale Gate Set and the Presperity Set. These set equipment are individually so-so, but when you have the whole set, you gain bonuses that offset the mediccrity of the individual pieces of armor.

In Suikoden 4, there are a total of 20 sets, and they give characters a wide array of special bonuses. Here I will list them all for reference.

Aristocrat Set
Aristocratic Hat: Defense +16, Luck +06
Aristocratic Suit: Defense +36, Luck +05
Aristocratic Gloves: Defense +18, Repel +03, Speed +03
Aristocratic Shoes: Defense +16, Luck +04
Full Set Bonus: Recover 1% of max HP every round, Magic +05%, Speed +10%, Magic Defense +05%

Ack, the Ogre Set..

I'm longing for this one... >_< I'd like to have berserk status with my Double-Strike/Warrior Combination. That must be HELLUVA LOTTA damage. XD

Where do you aquire the sets from? I'd like to get all of the Pirate King set but can't find any of them except for the Helm (got from 1st place prize in ship from the lottery0

You have to get them tailored by Phil, the mermaid sisters, or Adrienne.

I assume the combination of the three will have some of the sets.

Oh yeah, you need the necessary items to create the pieces of equipment.

Has anyone found the tengu/goblin set? I don't see it at either of the custom-armor places or at the other stores, and haven't randomly found any pieces. Does it exist in the US version?

The Goblin set can be made entirely by Phil the Tailor. The components of the set are the Goblin Court Hat, Goblin Overcoat, Goblin Beads, and Goblin Clogs, though they seem to be towards the end of the lists, so you may need at least 100 Stars of Destiny before they become available.

Are you sure the Pirate King set can be made by the tailer guy? If so, what are the required materials? I have the Brady guide and it's not listed.

I would also like an FAQ for the locations of some of the set pieces in the story. My friend got a Pirate King item by talking to a crew member on the HQ ship after defeating Colton and the lovely Brady guide never mentioned it.

I never said the Pirate King set could be made by the tailor, I only said the Goblin set could. If you want to know the locations of the unique one-of-a-kind sets, you could've just checked GameFAQs.

Kosento, I was asking because an above post hinted that all the sets were maid by the tailor/mermaids.

I searched gamefaqs and couldn't find any such list. Thanks for the help.
