Every encounter is easy. Some are just more annoying then others.
A lone Lazlo vs 5 crab battle is as annoying as they come.
It's best more efficient to have lazlo just use the lv1 lightning spell to kill them off in a single turn.
In the beginning of the game, Lazlo is available more often then Keneth.
He's got more opportunity to actually use the rune.
the Water rune isn't that great, all characters have access to all items during battle and there's enough medicine and food available for whenevr healing is needed.
