Talk to Cedric near the inn after the scene where Lino gathers everyone in the war room and tells us to gather volunteers

I thought for sure I missed him lol

For those who have a hard time finding old book volume 7, it's on northeast corner of the area

I had this before. All you need to do is talk to Desmond, remove Louise from your party, and head back to town (I spoke to the lady who asks you to catch him) Then when you head back towards the cave, it replays the scenes of Cedric running off, and you'll be able to find him behind the bar and recruit him.

He's referring to an althernative way to recruit Cedric in case you don't ever want to remove Louise from active party or forgot his recruitment by mistake.
