When you die and you choose continue, do you lose anything (Items, money, you can't recruit a specific character in the future?)

Nope. The suikoden series is generally very kind when it comes to game overs.

Well, you will lose something - every item you got between the time you last saved and you died. I don't know about levels in Suikoden IV, but think that you don't lose them.

Suikoden IV doesn't revert you to the last save, it reverts you to the fight you lost.

Oh, ok, I thought the first game to introduce this was Suikoden V.
