Discovering Suikoden IV :D

Hi you all .
Maybe my suikoden game has a bug but , when I first started playing I could arleady walk around with snowe .
Thats a bit weird because some of you tell me you cant
What I wonder : What should be the maximum attack , Gau keeps inproving
Gau is at Lv. 80 Now and is attack is 588
Maxine is at Lv. 80 and her magic is 334
--- Who wants to help me ? --------
The main thing : 1. We Can collect stone's of strenght ( ups attack with 2 )
2. We Can ..? any ideas of you , it would be helpful
So , how can we make them more powerfull

That is very strange. Yeah, you shouldn't be able to do that. You can only walk around as another character after you've beaten the game once.

The Hero's hp normaly is 604 but at Lv.99 his hp was 597 not 604 , Hmm Gau had 705 instead of 703

My Hero had 628 hp(can't go much higher considering that I messed with it until after lvl 70 to get the max growth), level ups are randomly generated from a few possible scenarios each level.
