Good Idea, Bad Idea?

So I didn't really know where to put this.

I bought Suikoden IV the other day and I'm playing it now. Meanwhile, I have Suikoden Tactics on the way from GameFly. Playing them at the same time: good idea or bad idea? I know ST's plot is kind of inter-woven with that of SIV; should I go ahead and finish SIV first? Will also playing ST spoil SIV for me?

You should clear SIV first and if you get every star you get a little bonus in Tactics. A really good one at that

the mermaids are especially hard to get

s4 really easy to recruit characters the only hard ones are snowe and a few of the mermaids but you can easily do it guide free!! its more fun to do it yourself!!!
tsuji is right finish 4 first tactics wouldn't make much sense!!
