I'm currently engrossed with Bram Stoker's Dracula and Real Ghost Stories by Brad Steiger. I enjoy my heavy dosage of the supernatural :)

I've just finished One Hundred Years of Solitude. It was quite a read.

The sad thing about Game of Thrones is that it's fantastic but from A Clash of Kings forward it's pretty much further downhill for each book.

I have to agree with Raww on that one. I had a bit of trouble getting through the last book and I am absolutely slogging through Dance with Dragons. Nothing has really happened for the last two books. Considering how exciting the first book this is very disappointing. He is in bad need of a good editor. The last two books were supposed to be one originally, they still should be. There are so many chapters that could be lifted entirely, or at the very least slashed of all their irrelevant fluff and combined with future chapters. I would like to see how the series ends but it's going to be torture getting there.

@Xelinis Yeah, Gabby Marquez's best work. It is likely to become a "classic" eventually, especially with the push towards feminism in academic circles.

Never Read Song of Ice and Fire or any of those. I have problems with modern fantasy, as C.S. Lewis and Tolkien were the last two to get it right, or even know that they were talking about. I guess it is just my exposure to medieval Lit that makes me think that though.

Anyone read Tigana by Guy Gavriel Kay? I think thats a great fantasy novel. It feels very 'Suikodeny' to me also. I think it would be right up your street, Ryan.

If you like Medieval, you would probably like the Song of Ice and Fire.

Haven't read too much lately, all I have time for at the moment is homework and sitting at this forum of course. I have however been listening to the audiobook of The Master and Margarita. Anyone know it?
It's basically about Satan coming to Russia to corrupt all it's people. There's a also a talking cat who likes beers and guns

I'm don't think I picked up on any of the feminist themes. The book indeed had some strong female characters, but they mostly stayed within the role that the culture dictated at that time. The primary themes I observed are recurrence, the non-linearity of time, and (of course) solitude.
