what is Suikogaiden exactly

Ive played the games and read this entire website and I still dont know exactly what Suikogaiden is. Can someone please tell me?

okay,is a game before suikoden 3 is the life of nash(suikoden 3).
is a good game but you only can choose situations and see then what happen.but the game is in japanese,damn

also to add on to what jillia blight said there are 2 the first takes place during suikoden 2 and the 2nd takes place before suikoden 3.

It's a game that is not worth playing unless you like reading Japanese text and understanding the text is a needed skill as well. Unless you like to see screen after screen of Japanese text with a few stagnant pictures, it's not a game for you.

I'm not sure if you missed it, but there is a nice summary of the gaidens written and presented by Howling Guild and Kuromimi.
