If random fans like us can notice these little differences, why the hell can't the person making the games realize "HEY THATS NOT THE SAME AS THE FIRST GAME." Damn.
The people who made the game obviously realised that its the same person, else one wouldn't get a similar sounding name. In fact, those names are spelt exactly the same in Japanese.
Of course, the person who localised the games for NA release never paid attention to such details.
