About the name "Dunan"

yeah it is the name of Jowston State after the war in Suikoden II, but anyone know who thought up of the name (I guess Shu or Teresa) and is there any meaning behind this name?

The lake in central Jowston was known as Lake Dunan. Also, a historical kingdom that once existed long before the founding of any of the City-States was known as the Kingdom of Dunan as well.

It wasn't exactly an original name.
