backstory to Suikoden V

i was just revisiting the beginning of the game and it feels as if Sialeeds, Georg, Lyon, and Prince have been away for a good long time. Ferid and Arshtat both act as if it's been years (Ferid does that armlock, Arshtat comments on how he's grown). The gang (well maybe not Sialeeds) also seems to be pretty clueless about the events of Lordlake.

so i'm just a little curious if there is any reference as to what else
"the gang" had been doing before Lordlake.

The headlock and the comment on growth don't really say much though. My own mother says as much occasionally, and I've heard of "fatherly fathers" doing that to their younger kids sometimes. This was probably just done to show that they are "good parents," and not much else.

Yeah, couldn't come up with a better term than "fatherly fathers". So sue me.
