Zexen Rune

Chris mentions swaring loyality to the Zexen Rune in Chris Chapter 1 with one of her meetings with the council. Is this a translation error, a rune or True Rune, or just some mistake?

It is a translation error. Should have been "Zexen Crest."

Actually, it seems like the kanji for rune is the same as the kanji for crest. Perhaps that's the reason for the error?

Yep, that's probably why. However, if the translators were informed of the context, they wouldn't have made this mistake.
