I'm playing through Suikoden 3 again, and Chris, when talking to the grasslanders mentions that the Knights of Zexen make their oaths on the Zexen Rune.
So, what is the Zexen Rune?

The word used for "rune" in Japanese can mean a number of other things as well.
In this case, when they talk about "Zexen Rune", they are referring to the crest or emblem that symbolises Zexen. It's their national symbol, and you can see it on their flags.
It's a misinterpretation of the Japanese word in Suikoden's context, is all.
